This is a beautiful example of a myoan style nobekan. Some unusual workmanship went into the crafting of this instrument. Though it has suffered some cracking over the years, it retains its structural integrity.
It plays easily into the third octave with a woody, mellow tone that at the same time is very focused. Chi is typically sharp.
Some binding has been lost, but there is no air leakage.
This has been my personal 1.9 for some time and is excellent for honkyoku.
