36mm O.D./ 21mm I.D.
Length: 482mm
Weight: 340 grams
Key: E
Price: ¥40,000
Maker: Chiku ?
Details: A jiari ryokusun made with a myoan style ivory inlay.
Probably made in the early to mid part of the 20th century.
Small surface cracks in the upper part near the fourth hole were repaired,
though further attention might be put to that part for a more pleasing aesthetic appeal.
The instrument seems to have gone through a fire judging by some scarring and its smokie aroma.
It has rattan binding at the nakasugi.
This is by far one of the best rokusuns that I have ever played. Unusually in tune and bright all the way up into the third octave.
Simply a beautiful-sounding, modern instrument.
